“Rest isn’t giving up. It’s giving yourself back.”
You’ve been carrying so much.
Trying to hold it all together.
Trying to show up, stay strong, keep moving, be okay.
But what if today, you stopped?
Not forever. Just for now.
Rest is not a luxury. It’s a necessity.
Especially when your soul is tired.
We live in a world that rewards productivity and shames stillness. But healing doesn’t happen through effort alone. It happens when we give ourselves permission to pause.
Maybe you need to sleep.
Maybe you need to cancel.
Maybe you just need to stop pretending you’re not exhausted.
You are not lazy for needing rest.
You are not failing for being tired.
You are responding to something real within you — something that’s been waiting for care, not criticism.
So today, take one thing off your plate.
Close your eyes a little longer.
Put your hand over your heart and say: 'I’m allowed to stop.'
This is not quitting.
This is how you begin again.
Lie down or recline comfortably. With each inhale, say silently: 'I deserve rest.' With each exhale: 'It’s safe to stop.' Repeat for 5–10 minutes or until your breath slows.
Cancel or postpone one task today that you’re doing out of obligation, not necessity. Replace it with 15 minutes of intentional rest — no guilt allowed.
Leo S. “I didn’t realize how much I was pushing myself just to feel 'normal.' Giving myself permission to lie down without shame was the most healing part of my week.”
You don’t have to collapse to deserve rest.
