“You do not have to earn your way into peace.”
Pause.
What if the most spiritual thing you could do today was nothing?
No effort. No becoming. No pushing toward progress.
Just being.
You are not a machine. You are not a project. You are not a task to be optimized.
You are a being. And being is already holy.
Let the mind protest. Let the anxiety rise. Let the urgency scream that you should be *doing* something.
But don’t move.
Sit in that discomfort until it softens. Until your nervous system learns it’s okay to rest. Until your spirit exhales.
Stop. Be. That’s enough.
You are not behind. You are not failing. You are arriving — here, now, where presence lives.
And that, dear seeker, is more than enough.
Lie down or sit supported. Breathe deeply without changing the breath. Repeat silently: “I do not need to try right now.” Stay in this stillness for five minutes. Let yourself feel your being.
Cancel one thing from your to-do list today — even if it’s internal. Choose rest instead.
Drew F. “I thought I had to *do* to be worthy — journal, meditate, work harder. But the first time I just sat in stillness, I cried. Because for once, I let myself exist without effort.”
There is nothing more spiritual than simply being.
