“The gap between two thoughts is where eternity enters.”
Most of us live like thought is the truth — a constant stream of commentary we assume is real. But what if the truest part of you isn’t in the thoughts, but in the space between them?
There’s a flicker — a moment — after one thought ends and before the next begins. It’s so subtle you could miss it. And yet, it holds everything.
That space? It’s awareness. It’s presence. It’s you.
You are not your thoughts. You are the still field they arise from. And when you begin to live from that space, you don’t have to believe everything your mind says. You can listen without obeying.
The more you notice the gap, the wider it becomes — and in that widening, peace returns. Awareness isn’t something you gain. It’s something you realize you never lost.
Close your eyes and follow your breath for a few moments. Now begin to observe your thoughts — not with judgment, just curiosity. See if you can catch the space between them. That tiny pause. Rest in that space for a few breaths. You don’t need to extend it. Just notice it’s there — always waiting.
Pick one moment today to pause for 30 seconds after doing something habitual — like checking your phone or walking into a room. In the pause, ask silently: 'What’s here between thoughts?'
Jules N. “I always thought I was my thinking. But when I started noticing the pauses, I felt something deeper — more peaceful. I didn’t know I could just… *be.*”
The space between is never empty — it is full of you.
